Path to a Brighter FutureTM

A Self Help Program for NonBPDs The Path to a Brighter Future is an ordered set of exercises that are designed to help you as a NonBP in a chosen relationship create a future of your own choosing that will work well for you. By completing this self study course, you will have a better understanding of your current situation. You will also figure out where you want to go. Finally, you will recognize that you have the resources for getting from where you are to where you want to be and you’ll be able to organize them towards creating a brighter future for yourself.

This is not an afternoon process, but will take a long time to fully complete. Be patient with yourself as you figure these things out. There are some hard questions to answer. Doing the exercises as described will allow you to get the best outcome. Some of the exercises may even seem silly. Don’t let that prevent you from trying them. If they don’t work for you, the worst you have suffered is some private embarrassment.

A brighter future is within your grasp. It is not dependent upon your significant other doing anything. You can create a brighter future for yourself without their help or buy in. It is entirely up to you. Your brighter future may include your significant other, or it may not. Determining whether your future includes your current significant other is of course an important part of the process.

Because you are in a confusing situation, knowing where you want to go is hard. Think of yourself as the gazelle being chased by the lion. Is the gazelle going to be effective in finding a good watering hole? In finding greener grass for grazing? No, of course his first necessity is to escape the lion! In your case, the lion represents the effects of the disorder on you. The lion is not necessarily your significant other, but your reaction to what they do. In other words, you must first remove the teeth from the lion, then you can get on to finding water, food, shelter and eventually happiness.
